In February, 2006 we had the opportunity to see first hand the work of Light of the Soul Ministries and its founder, Pastor Anthony Oluloye. Together with two other Americans, I traveled to Nigeria and saw the need, as well as the hope, that is in that country.
At the Juvenile Remand Center, we saw the classroom and computers that LOTS has provided. We met the dedicated teacher who comes in to teach the boys computer repair and computer skills. Brother Dami is paid by LOTS, as the government has not been able to pay the regular teachers at the remand center.
Also, at the center, we met some wonderful young, Christian brothers who lead the other young men in the church and in Bible studies. They have seen the hope that Jesus Christ brings and it is changing their lives.
There is always more to do at such places, but LOTS has already made a difference in many young lives. At the first ever prison ministry conference held in Lagos, we met several ex-prisoners and one young man who had been at the remand center and who had come to faith while in a LOTS service. That young man is now attending a Christian university and is living a dream he never thought he could have.
It was a blessing for us to see how the Lord is working through Pastor Anthony and LOTS in order to feed the bellies as well as the souls of many young people in Nigeria.
